From the Greenhouse to the Boathouse - A Centerville, MA Wedding

When Tory and James decided to get married, they knew there were certain things that had to be a part of their big day: Tory’s family home in Centerville, MA, a Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony and an amazing dance party. I can tell you from having been there, they got all three and had an incredible time with their most important friends and family members.

One thing they weren’t counting on when they decided to get married at the Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club was the rain. The summer of 2023 was one of the rainiest wedding seasons on record for the last 20 years. Tory and James wanted to do a first look before their wedding ceremony, and the rain was putting a real damper on that plan. But, as a wedding photographer, one of my jobs is to help make the most out of even the least ideal conditions. I located a nearby greenhouse, and as it turns out, Tory’s mom knew the owner. The Hyannis Country Garden was more than happy to have us over to their place to help Tory and James have a beautiful greenhouse first look full of greenery and flowers.

Tory’s mom is an incredible crafter and artist. She was instrumental in planning and creating many of the details of Tory and James’ wedding. She made the boutonnieres and flower arrangements herself. She planned and orchestrated the beautiful table settings, and she and Tory’s dad provided the incredible food for the reception. Additionally, she collected and dried flower petals for almost a year to create the flower cones that were distributed to the guests to toss at the bride and groom following their wedding ceremony at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church. It made for an amazing exit for the bride and groom!

At their reception, Tory and James impressed everyone with their dance moves and we heard beautiful toasts from members of their family. We were even able to sneak outside for a few moments here and there to get some photos on the roof of the Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club and down on the beach. At the end of the day, the rain made no difference to these two amazing people! Congrats Tory and James!

Tory and James had the Cape Cod wedding that they had always imagined thanks to a little help from their friends and family, the Hyannis Country Garden and the Wequaquet Lake Yacht Club.
